New regulations and a code of conduct for freshwater fishing will come into effect this weekend to mark the start of the fishing season.
Tynwald approved a number of changes to freshwater fishing methods and techniques in December following a consultation period.
In particular, coarse fish anglers can now purchase a specific coarse fishing licence which will remove the restriction of fishing within a season designed to protect salmon and trout.
All anglers must purchase their fishing licences for the year before they go out for the first time. These can be bought from the Post Office or online at www.gov.im
