Almost £1 million will be spent on building a new fire station in the south of the Island if a planning application is approved.
The Department of Home Affairs wants to create a new station and training facility on the Ronaldsway Industrial Estate.
It would be a replacement for the current station in Farrants Way in Castletown which has been deemed as at the end of its operational life.
The new station would also provide cover for Ronaldsway Airport in the event of a major incident.
If the plan is approved work will start in April next year.
