More than £1,300 will help the group to take long-range photographs of whales, dolphins and porpoises in Manx waters.
The grant, awarded by Manx Lottery Trust has been used to purchase a 150-600mm lens and tripod.
The charity has been collecting photo data using a smaller lens, but has struggled because of poor weather and issues with their vessel.
It says the new equipment will be a 'game changer' and has thanked the Manx Lottery Trust for making it happen.
