Historical DVD Delves 2000 Years Back in Time Through The Island\'s Colourful History
A new DVD has been produced cataloguing the Isle of Man’s history with the aid of top of the range computer graphic software, used to recreate some significant moments of the Islands past.
The production is titled The Castles and Forts of the Isle of Man and spans back over two thousand years of Manx history.
Whilst researching the subject matter Producer and Presenter Charles Guard uncovered details of the time French Pirates invaded Castletown in 1377.
Most notable of all the finds however was the fortified site on top of South Barrule, where in the Bronze Age, there was a huddle of nearly eighty round houses, surrounded by a huge stone rampart.
Mr Guard says the Isle of Man has a fascinating history and he hopes to encourage more people to take an active interest in it.
