A new director of education has been appointed.
Geoff Moorcroft will succeed Martin Barrow who is set to retire at Easter following a 36-year career in education.
Mr Moorcroft has worked on the Island since moving here in 1989. He was the headteacher at Scoill Phurt le Moirrey in Port St Mary and then worked as the coordinating adviser for primary education.
He will now oversee the Island's 38 schools, the Isle of Man College of Further and Higher Education and the Education Improvement Service.
