A new Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress have been formally appointed in Douglas.
During a special meeting of Douglas Borough Council, Mayor of Douglas, Jon Joughin, confirmed Councillor Janet Thommeny would take up the position as Deputy Mayor
Meanwhile, it was also confirmed Councillor Natalie Byron would serve as Deputy Mayoress - both will take up the positions for the 2020-21 municipal year.
As part of the council session, Councillor Joughin also announced that his wife, Angela, would continue in the role of Mayoress whilst Monsignor John Devine would service as the mayor's chaplain for the remainder of the 2020-21 mayoral year.
