Rushen Heritage Trust has published a new book to commemorate the 170th anniversary of the Brig Lily Disaster.
Written by John Wright, the book tells the story of the vessel which was wrecked on the rocks between the Sound and the Calf of Man in 1852.
A group of 29 men from Port St Mary were killed in an explosion while attempting to salvage the cargo.
The book is based on first-hand accounts, newspaper reports, and findings of the inquest.
'The Explosion That shook Port St Mary' is available from Rushen Heritage Centre for £10.
