Health Minister Claire Christian says staff shortages has seen the number of cots at the neonatal unit halve since 2022.
She faced a question for written answer from Onchan MHK Julie Edge about the unit at Noble's Hospital.
In her response, she said in 2022 the unit had nine cots but in July that year staff shortages meant that was cut to just four.
She also said almost £165,000 had been spent transferring babies to the UK for care since 2020.
