Negotiations between the Steam Packet and a union about live-on-board arrangements has reached an 'impasse.'
After two years of discussions the company has been unable to reach an agreement with Nautilus, but has agreed a package of measures in return for changes to working practices with another union.
The changes aim to improve reliability and resilience of services for the benefit of customers.
The Steam Packet says it's keen to resolve the matter with Nautilus in an 'amicable way, as soon as possible.'
It adds that the Ben-my-Chree is scheduled to be converted to live on-board arrangements following its move to fleet reserve status.
