Areas of red water spotted around the Island are no cause for concern, according to officials.
The Department of Enviornment, Food and Agriculture confirmed that the discoloured water has been caused by a type of algae.
They add that the algae is a natual phenomenon and is non-toxic.
The department has responded after reports from residents had spotted the mysterious water in the likes of Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey bays.
