A music teacher's lost his case of sex discrimination against the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.
Brass instrument player Garry Reynolds took the department to a tribunal over his pay, which he claimed was lower than women in the same post.
The tribunal heard the DESC didn't accept his qualification as being suitable - despite it being recognised in Scotland - and so had placed him on a different pay scale to other music teachers.
After hearing one female teacher who was paid more for doing the same job had a qualification which is recognised by the department, and another had bene paid more by mistake, the tribunal dismissed Mr Reynolds' claim.
