Murder Trial: CCTV footage of men in pub played to jury

CCTV footage of an alleged murderer and his victim drinking together in a pub the night before he died has today been played to a jury.

The recording, taken from cameras in the Bay Hotel in Port Erin, shows 46-year-old Ian Anderson and 60-year-old Neil Roberts on November 30^th 2013.

Anderson stands accused of murdering the Ballabeg man after they later returned to his property on Queen Street in Castletown – his body was found in the early hours of December 1^st.

The video evidence showed the pair repeatedly hugging, and kissing each other on the forehead, with one witness describing Mr Roberts as being “all over” Anderson.

A witness statement from the barman on the evening described the duo as being “overfriendly” and said they were acting as though they were “in a relationship with each other”.

Anderson denies one charge of murder – the trial continues.
