A mum of three who got drunk and started a fight at a rugby club has been told she’s fortunate not to be sent to prison.
Bethany Parker of Fairfield Terrace in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
She initially denied two counts of common assault as well as one each of provoking behaviour and disorderly behaviour on licensed premises but changed her plea and admitted all charges.
The court heard the 26 year old was an invited guest at a private function at Vagabonds Rugby Club in Douglas on October 6 last year when she picked a fight with a member of bar staff and other people she didn’t know.
On June 16 last year, she punched a woman who complained about noise outside her home in Linden Gardens in Onchan.
The court heard unemployed Parker was extremely drunk on both occasions but regretted her actions, and had no previous convictions.
Magistrates said only her previous good character had saved her from an immediate jail term.
They ordered her to spend two years on probation, pay £250 in compensation to her victims and £300 in costs at the rate of £10 per week from her benefits.
