Manx Utilities has issued a statement after it started paying back money it had wrongly charged smart meter users.
After surprise refunds were credited to meters last night, dozens of people took to social media with questions.
The organisation says those paying by direct debit or who get normal electricity bills aren't affected by the issue - which was caused by management software rather than faults with meters.
It says more work is needed to refund people who've moved home or closed their accounts, and staff will contact those customers as soon as possible.
