Building five houses in Ramsey may mean moving a patch of earth and rare clover species it contains.
Seymar Developments wants to build the homes on land at the corner of Premier Road and Mooragh Promenade.
In its application, the company - based in water Street in Ramsey - says a survey in the 1990s found a number of rare species on the land known as Ramsey Clover Patch.
In order to build the houses, the firm says it would transplant the turf and soil to the site of the nearby Grand Island housing development.
