The Department of Infrastructure says the Mountain Road will open later this afternoon.
Work on the route had initially meant it would remain shut overnight.
However, the department says the closed section from Ramsey to the Bungalow will now reopen at 4.30pm.
The work will continue tomorrow, Tuesday, September 9, and the road will close at 9.30am.
