The Mountain Road has closed overnight as Storm Darragh continues to hit the Island.
An amber weather warning remains in place until midnight tonight with high winds expected to continue until 9pm.
The government says the current priority is to keep main roads clear and to restore power to homes that have lost it.
It's also warning people some homes may not be reconnected until tomorrow.
