Police say heavy snow is falling on the mountain road.
Officers posted on social media this morning to confirm driving conditions will be assessed between the Brandywell and Mountain Mile.
Despite the weather, roads have been gritted and the route currently remains open.
The constabulary is warning people to drive carefully, and remember stopping distances can be up to 10 times greater in wintery conditions.
