The Mountain Road is now closed until 7pm.
The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed the route - which was due to re-open at 4pm, will now be closed until early evening after talking with Ronaldsway Met Office.
The closure is in place from the Creg Na Baa Back Road to Barrule Park.
It's as storm Barra continues to batter the Island - continue high winds continue to cause concern, it's thought speeds are currently at 55mph on the route and are expected to rise.
