Fire crews are urging residents in the properties surrounding the Mount Murray Hotel to stay indoors whilst they bring a major fire under control.
The blaze started in the last hour. We have unconfirmed reports it began in the accommodation block and is spreading quickly.
Although there is no threat of the fire spreading to the surrounding properties, there is significant amounts of smoke in the area.
The road leading down to the hotel and housing estate is currently closed at the top with police in attendance.
No more details as to the cause or how long crews expect to be on site are available.
