Motorists still ignoring Market Street one-way

Motorists are still ignoring the one-way system on a street in Douglas despite repeated messages from officials.

The constabulary's roads policing unit says those who don't pay attention to the signage on Market Street face penalty points and a fine if they're caught.

Earlier this month the Department of Infrastructure urged drivers to pay attention to the rules on the stretch, adding authorities are now paying particular attention to the area.

Police officers have now taken to social media to tell people to not 'be lazy, add a few minutes to your journey and save yourself having a tarnished driving record'.
