A reminder has gone out to road users to ensure that they are fully aware of the rules and restrictions that apply when using Greenway Roads on the Island.
It's reported there are a minority of road users who do not comply with the local byelaws and by doing so are opening themselves up to the possibility of prosecution.
The first message is that normal highway restrictions are still in place and apply to all users of the Greenway Roads.
The second is that it’s illegal to drive a vehicle off a highway onto open moorland or into adjacent plantations.
Police will be enforcing the byelaw over the coming months undertaking a number of spot checks on the vehicles using the upland tracks.
