Motorists face up to nine weeks of disruption from today as the next phase of work on Peel Road starts.
The Department of Infrastructure is starting drainage work between Hills Meadow and Circular Road in Douglas.
During this time it will only be possible to retain one lane of traffic which means Circular Road will be closed to traffic heading out of Douglas.
Temporary traffic lights will be used to manage traffic passing through the work area.
The department says no alternatives to this closure are available and drivers have been asked to be patient while the work is undertaken.
