Police say they have no choice but to fine motorists who are blocking the path of emergency vehicles.
In the last two days they have issued 65 advisory notices to people who've parked illegally around the areas of Empress Drive, Mona Drive, Castle Drive and Empire Terrace in Douglas.
It follows a fire in the area last week in which a fire engine was stopped from getting through - Sergeant Steven Lapsley says he thinks it's a measured response to the issue:
