More teachers on Island have voted strongly in favour of industrial action.
The NASUWT-The Teachers’ Union has told the government its members have voted for action in an ongoing dispute over pay, pensions and conditions.
94 per cent of members who took part in the ballot voted in favour of strike action and 98 per cent for industrial action short of strike action. The turnout was 68 per cent.
Meanwhile, a the University College Isle of Man 94 per cent of members voted in favour of strike action and 100 per cent voted in favour of industrial action.
The union says the ballot result shows the strength of feeling and the determination of its members.
