The Department of Infrastructure is extending a consultation on the issue of establishing a separate body to enforce the Island's laws on health and safety in the workplace.
The restructuring of government last February included the creation of a Health and Safety Authority.
The proposals look at the remit and powers of a new Authority, establishing a 'Consultative Committee' and considers the process for appeals against Notices issued by Health and Safety Inspectors.
The Government want to make sure that all interest parties have put forward their views so have extended the deadline of the consultation to Monday 13th June.
To obtain a copy of the consultation document, please contact Rachel.Bevan@gov.im, or write to her at Department of Infrastructure, Sea Terminal Building, Douglas, IM1 2RF. Alternatively, you can view the document at http://www.gov.im/transport/ConsultationDetail.gov?id=228
