Douglas Fire station could get extra parking to allow more firefighters to deal with major incidents.
The Department of Justice and Home Affairs has applied for planning permission at the site on Peel Road.
In its application, it says it wants to convert a grassed area near the road into extra parking space.
It says the move would alleviate problems when a second crew has to be called in during major responses.
