Increased financial support for farmers won't guarantee enough food and bedding for their animals.
That's according to Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister, Geoffrey Boot, in written response to a question in Tynwald yesterday.
Mr Boot added it's because of the UK-wide demand for the resources during the dry weather period.
He had been asked by Speaker of the House of Keys, Juan Watterson, how much money will be needed to support Manx farmers through this difficult situation.
