More information submitted on statue lighting over bat concerns

Proposed lights for a planned statue of a Viking king in St Johns maybe be too blue - but shouldn't harm bats.

Former Tynwald President Lawrence Skelly won permission for the statue, with a condition that lighting details must be submitted.

In new information to planners, it's emerged three spotlights which would light the monument from below have colour temperatures above those recommended by bat experts.

But in a new application, a lighting technician says he doesn't think the spotlights will bring too much disruption to wildlife.
