Work Continuing to Restore Gas
Whilst work continues to restore the Towns Gas supplies to customers in Colby and Castletown, Manx Gas have issued an urgent message for all mains gas users in those areas.
First and foremost they have been told that there is currently a major problem with the gas supply which could still take another few days to sort out, with 24 engineers working on isolating the problem.
Everybody in the area on mains gas has been asked to turn their supply off so the restoration works can begin, people who use propane needn’t worry as they’re not affected.
750 customers have been affected; it’s thought the problem stems from a technical failure at the Port St Mary plant.
Customers are urged to not use their gas until they’re told it’s safe to do so, you can call 644444 for further details.
