Onchan Commissioners have applied to borrow more than £267,000 to refurbish a youth and community centre.
The local authority has asked permission from the Department of Infrastructure to take out the loan, which would be repaid over 10 years.
The centre is currently undergoing work, which is expected to take until January next year to complete.
The Department of Infrastructure says it'll make a decision on the borrowings next week.
