Modernised election process to be in place for 2016

A modernised election process will be in place in time for the 2016 General Election according to the Policy and Reform Minister.

A recent consultation on the Representation of the People Bill garnered 20 responses from interested parties including existing MHKs and MLCs and legal practitioners.

It endeavours to make the whole process simpler whilst reducing the risk of fraud - something that was seen in the 2010 East Douglas by-election.
