Only 6 Stopped During Mobile Phone Clamp Down
The Isle of Man
Constabulary have hailed a recent operation to clamp down on Mobile Phone use
behind the wheel as a major success.
The 3FM
endorsed campaign operating under the slogan Kill the Call – Not Someone Else
targeted motorists using their mobile phones whilst
driving.
There was an
increased Police presence throughout the campaign and when compared to previous
clampdowns there was a distinct drop in figures of people caught using their
mobiles.
There were only 6 people stopped during the recent clamp down, a police spokesperson has called this very positive news but ultimately they don’t want to be stopping anybody.
Anybody caught using their phones whilst driving will, at the very least, face a hefty fine.
