Investigation to be Launched into Missing Life Aids
A number of missing safety floats could have potentially lead to disaster last night had it not been for the heroics of a Police Constable.
A 52 year old Douglas man was reported as being in the water just off Lock Promenade last night, upon reaching the scene the Police say he was blue in the face and totally unresponsive to their calls.
Both the 52 year old and Constable Adam Hawkes were taken to Nobles Hospital to be treated for Hypothermia, Constable Hawkes was discharged later on, the other man remains in a serious but stable condition.
Inspector Mark Britton has said an investigation will be launched into why the life buoys were missing.
