Ministry of Defence contribution will remain unaltered

Chief Minister Allan Bell addressed the Island's contribution to the UK's Ministry of Defence in the House of Keys yesterday.

He was asked if our annual payment of £3m will be renegotiated in light of efforts by the UK government to greatly reduce their budget and services.

The Ramsey MHK said there is no indication that the services the Island make use of will change in anyway.

The annual fixed payment has been in place since the early 90's.

The question came from Liberal Vannin Member, Kate Beecroft.
