A planning application to dump silt from Peel Harbour at Cross Vein Mine in Foxdale will be decided by planners rather than the Council of Ministers.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture unveiled plans to take silt from a lagoon in Peel to the mine, treat it and use it for work there.
The proposals would see a settlement pond built as well as a temporary treatment plant, access roads and drainage ditches.
In a letter, the Council of Ministers said it didn't want to determine the application and so it will now go before the planning committee.
