Ministers to consider windfarm plans

The Council of Ministers has agreed to examine a company's application to develop the first offshore windfarm in Manx territorial waters. 

Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm Limited is leasing an area off the Island's north-east coast from the Department of Infrastructure. 

A 12-week public consultation opens today allowing people and organisations to register as interested parties and share their views.

After gathering feedback, the government says the company’s application will be reviewed by a panel of independent experts.
