The government says it wants to slash the bureaucracy surrounding the Island's work permit system to make it easier for workers and companies to apply.
In Tynwald this week, Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly faced questions on permits from North Douglas MHK Ralph Peake.
Mr Skelly said a public consultation has been launched about proposals to reform and simplify the process.
He told Tynwald he hopes to cut the time it takes to make a decision:
