The Infrastructure Minister says he felt it was more appropriate to discuss a petition focussing on the Summerland site privately - not in full view of the press.
David Cretney was handed the document concerning future development of the site by campaigner Tina Brennen yesterday.
She is irritated that more wasn't made of the meeting and says she believed Mr Cretney was 'ashamed' because the sale of the site would be inexcusable.
Almost 2,000 signatures have been collected in support of stopping future development after the tragedy in August 1973.
However, Mr Cretney says no one else was present at the meeting because the topic was of a sensitive nature:
Cafe hits back after staff abused
Online appointments being considered by sexual health clinic
Treasury can’t say how much is made from medicinal cannabis
Road closures planned for tin baths this weekend
DOI has no junction safety concerns over Iceland plans
LegCo to face questions in this morning's sitting
Passport prices to rise
House of Keys to sit for final time before election
