Minister says gas off Island's coast could be worth as much as £6 billion

Gas reserves off the Island's coast could be worth anywhere between £10 million and £6 billion to the taxpayer.

So says Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall after he was asked about how much the Isle of Man stood to make from Manx company Crogga's gas exploration licence.

In Tynwald this week, Central Douglas MHK Chris Thomas asked him to make a statement about the project.

Mr Crookall said despite the estimates, it was difficult to say exactly how much gas was under the sea floor and how much it would be worth:
