Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says he's planning to ease up the Island's work permit system to make it easier for people to work here.
In the House of Keys, he was quizzed by Middle MHK Bill Shimmin about plans to overcome skill shortages by relaxing the rules.
Mr Skelly said he's considering exempting the financial and professional services industries from work permit regulations.
He added further changes would make it easier for unmarried couples from off the Island to find work here:
