Minister: Opposition in Keys still important

David Cretney says opposition in the new-look House is healthy for government, but ministers can still increasingly work together.

David Cretney has said the new Council of Ministers is so far working together effectively - but this doesn't mean the end of opposition in the House of Keys.

Speaking to 3FM, the Infrastructure Minister said that, as a Manx Labour Party member, it was crucial to him that the party remained active in the ministerial set-up.

The Douglas South MHK said a healthy level of opposition was crucial for any parliament, but he highlighted a strong sense of togetherness in the new-look House, which he believes will only be of benefit to the Island.
