The Treasury Minister has apologised for providing incorrect information about the assessors carrying out incapacity assessments.
Eddie Teare had previously claimed that two of the staff members from Dependability Limited were registered mental health nurses.
He says it’s transpired that one of those assessors – although a qualified mental health nurse - is not registered.
Personal Capability Assessments require the professionals to be registered in order to conduct face to face assessments of claimants – it means this assessor, who carried out 20, was not eligible to do so.
