Work is progressing well on getting the Island ready for September, when over 1,000 athletes will arrive for the Commonwealth Youth Games.

The Bowl development has been helped along by the good weather of late, it’s now hoped it could be ready as soon as May, in this event it could host the closing ceremony of the HSBC Youth Games.
It’s anticipated that finding enough volunteers will pose the biggest headache for the organisers; in total they’ll need over 1500 helpers.
Minister David Cretney has said it’s crucial that the organising committee and his Department work together to deliver the best games possible.
