Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey says no area of government can be spared from cutting spending.
In Tynwald this week, North Douglas MHK David Ashford asked him if he'd resist any further cuts to police budgets.
Mr Malarkey said nothing in government could be considered ring-fenced or safe from cuts.
But he said he recognised the vital work done by the Island's Constabulary:
