Infrastructure work teams have dealt with bulk of pot hole problems in time for TT
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne has told 3FM that the roads will be ready for TT, but ultimately a lot more financial investment is needed to stop the issues reoccurring.
The highways have been dogged with severe potholes following the heavy snow and ice throughout the winter.
A quick fix repair has been carried out on the main roads but the minister said an additional £3-4 million would be needed to properly deal with the problem.
Given the current economic climate the Minister feels this is an unrealistic figure to be granted by government.
In total over 5,000 potholes and defects have been repaired by the Department’s work team.
The first practice session will be held next Saturday.
