Treasury Minister Alf Cannan says he's putting a million pounds of public money into a property reserve just in case the government needs to buy something.
In the House of Keys this week North Douglas MHK David Ashford wanted to know what the money - included in the Budget - was for.
Mr Cannan said the Land and Property Acquisition Reserve is running low and needs topping up.
But he said there was nothing specific the million pounds was earmarked for:
Repairs on Peel Power Station to get underway
Manx Care doctor survey to be discussed by Tynwald
Weather warning for snow tonight
MHK queries safety at primary school in Ballabeg
Gales put two ferry sailings at risk tonight
Should the Island throw a birthday party for Barry Gibb?
Warning issued over icy roads
High ground could see 4 inches of snow on Saturday night
