Michael Commissioners have announced a rise of more than 23 per cent to this year's rates.
The board says it's set the rates to 199 pence in the pound.
Last year's rates in the district were 161 pence in the pound, giving a rise of 23.6 per cent - in December, inflation stood at 3.3 per cent.
It's the largest percentage rise announced by a local authority so far this year.
