MHKs protest removal of gas price discount

The decision to remove a long-standing discount for gas consumers stands - but not for people paying by direct-debit.

A two and a half percent discount for cash customers has been ditched in an effort to encourage more direct-debit payments.
 
Office of Fair Trading Chairman David Quirk was asked the question in the House of Keys yesterday by Onchan MHK Peter Karran.
 
Mr Quirk said all customers have been notified and there are no plans to make any changes.
 
Head of Liberal Vannin Kate Beecroft was incensed by Mr Quirks response:
