Onchan MHK Rob Callister says he won't sign off laws which would see the Island's bishop lose their Tynwald vote.
This week the House of Keys passed a new bill which would scrap the vote either five years after the law gets Royal Assent or the day after the current bishop leaves.
Mr Callister says the change could mean the end of an Island-based bishop, and it'll be the first time he doesn't sign a piece of legislation in Tynwald.
He's now urging other Tynwald members to follow suit - saying he wants to show the new law doesn't have the support of the Isle of Man.
